European Accessibility Act Compliance Services
Accessible and compliant digital presence
In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, accessibility is no longer optional – it is a moral and legal obligation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 1.3 billion people worldwide (1 in 6) live with some form of disability, facing barriers when websites and digital services fail to implement inclusive design.
To address this, the European Union introduced the 2019/882 Directive, known as the European Accessibility Act (EAA), mandating that businesses – beyond just public entities – comply with accessibility standards (such as WCAG 2.1) by 28 June 2025.
Babini Mazzari partners with AccessiWay – a recognized leader in digital accessibility – to deliver a complete pathway to EAA compliance. Our synergy combines Babini Mazzari’s implementation expertise with AccessiWay’s specialized audits and certification.
For enterprises operating in the EU with more than 10 employees or an annual turnover above EUR 2 million, these guidelines are binding, including non-European groups that offer products or services within the EU. Microenterprises (fewer than 10 employees and/or turnover under EUR 2 million) are typically exempt but may still choose to adhere voluntarily for reputational and market benefits.
Our approach to accessibility
Bringing equal access to every digital touchpoint
1. Initial assessment
Our first step is a thorough audit of your digital platforms, measured against recognized guidelines like WCAG 2.1. We identify existing compliance gaps and set clear priorities for remediation.
2. Remediation and certification with AccessiWay
Next, Babini Mazzari fixes code and design-level issues. To confirm compliance, AccessiWay’s experts perform final evaluations. Upon success, they issue a formal Accessibility Statement (an EAA requirement), including a feedback channel where users can report any encountered barriers.
3. Annual renewals and ongoing monitoring
Organizations must update their Accessibility Statement at least once a year. By opting for AccessiWay’s continuous monitoring program, you can regularly test new content or features to ensure you maintain compliance over time.
4. Training for internal teams
Long-term accessibility is best achieved through an educated in-house team. We offer tailored training sessions, in collaboration with AccessiWay, so your staff can create and manage accessible content independently, greatly reducing the risk of drifting out of compliance.
5. Optional accessibility widget
A widget can provide additional user options (for instance, adjusting contrast or text size), but true compliance relies on your platform’s underlying code. Official evaluations typically disable overlays, testing the site’s core accessibility instead.
